The Atomfjella area is known for it's good skiing conditions.

This is an extraordinary experience. The tour starts with 180 km snowmobile transport, followed up with 3 nights in ski camp at the foot of Newtontoppen, where we will have good atmosphere, good food and unforgettable nature experiences.

Our guides have skills and knowledge to consider the safety regarding avalanches and other Arctic related issues.

Practical information

Newtontoppen is quite remote on Spitsbergen, Svalbard We recommend that your flight schedule has some margins in case the weather will be challenging.

The map shows us the route to get to Atomfjella and Newtontoppen. The distance is 180 km each way. The last part makes it a little challenging, because then we're out of the Travelling Resctriction Area 10, where tourists aren't allowed to drive themself, only transported by locals.

We'll create a camp when we arrive the foot of Newtontoppen. Considered the weather conditions, we might change location for camp. For us who travel in the moutains, we know that the weather might change quickly, and we need to adapt to that.

Backyard Svalbard provides tents and common camping equipment. Sleeping bag and matress is available to rent, as well as skiing and avalanche equipment.
