Newtontoppen Ski Camp Newtontoppen (1713m), Svalbard’s highest mountain
Now you have the chance to climb Svalbard’s highest mountain, Newtontoppen at 1,713 meters above sea level.
The Atomfjella area is known for its good snow conditions.
This will be an experience out of the ordinary. The trip starts with 180 km snowmobile transport. Then we have 3 nights in ski camp at Newtontoppen where we will have a good atmosphere, good food and unforgettable nature experiences.
We have good guides who make careful assessments of safety with regard to avalanches and other Arctic challenges.
This is an exclusive tour for 6 people

Practical information
Newtontoppen is very remote on Spitsbergen, Svalbard. We recommend that you have good margins on your flights, should there be weather changes and challenges along the way.
The map shows the route we drive to get to Atomfjella and Newtontoppen. It is 180 km each way, but the last bit makes it extra challenging, as we move outside Management Area 10. Then tourists cannot drive their own scooters, they must be transported by local people.
We arrange camp when we arrive at Newtontoppen. Depending on the weather conditions, we may use another location for camp. For those of us who travel a lot in the mountains, we know that the weather can change quickly.
We arrange tents and shared tent equipment. Sleeping bags and sleeping mats can be rented. Ski and avalanche equipment can also be rented if you do not have this yourself.

How to get to Svalbard
Reaching the Arctic Frontier.
Traveling to Svalbard is part of the adventure! Located far above the Arctic Circle, this secluded archipelago is surprisingly accessible, with daily flights from important European cities.
Fly to Longyearbyen.
Longyearbyen, Svalbard’s largest settlement, serves as the major entrance to the islands. Flights are available year-round with connections from Oslo and Tromsø in Norway. Major airlines like as SAS and Norwegian Air provide regular service, making it simple to arrange your trip.
Connect to Oslo or Tromsø.
Most overseas passengers will need to fly into Oslo, Norway’s capital. Take a direct trip to Longyearbyen or have a picturesque layover at Tromsø, the “Gateway to the Arctic.”

Newtontoppen is located in a remote part of Spitsbergen, Svalbard, and we recommend ensuring good flexibility with your flights, as weather changes can impact travel times and logistics.
Challenging Terrain:
The final section of the snowmobile route to Atomfjella and Newtontoppen involves traveling outside Management Area 10, where you cannot drive your own snowmobile. Local people will transport you for this portion of the journey.
Camp Setup:
Upon arrival at Newtontoppen, we will set up tents and camp facilities. The weather in the mountains can change rapidly, and we may adjust the camp location as needed. Rest assured, we have extensive experience dealing with variable conditions.
Camping Gear:
We provide tents and shared camping equipment. Sleeping bags and sleeping mats are available for rent, as well as ski and avalanche equipment for those who don’t bring their own.
