Itinerary: Day by day

Day 1: Going into the Arctic wilderness

Your Arctic adventure will begin when we pick you up after lunch at 12.00 outside your hotel. The guide is locally based an know a lot of Svalbard. This will be the time to know more about this magical place. We will then go for ashort ride out into the valley where the landscape will open up and we get away from the small town. From our starting point we will begin the easy hike through the stunning arctic terrain, surrounded by dramatic mountains. All gear will be devided between us so you might need to drag a pulk and/or carry some gear in your own bagpack. When we reach our camp site we will set up everything and prepare our cozy base for the night.

Once settled, there's time to explore the surroundings with a small hike, building snowcaves (during winter), and just having fun in the enjoying a warm drink and soaking in the stillness of the Arctic.

During winter, the darkness brings the magical Northern lights dancing above the valley. The valley is actually one of the best places to spot it as we are away from town light pollution.

During summer, the midnight sun keeps the landscape glowing in soft golden light all night long and it will be easier to spot wildlife and special flora and fauna of Svalbard.

We will prepare the dinner together before spending the night in the tent. During the night we will take turns for being a polar bear watch - a time where youcan enjoy the stillness and this amazing adventure.

Day 2: Morning in the wild & return to Longyearbyen

You will wake up to the crisp Arctic air and enjoy a simple breakfast with the most beautiful view of the landscape. After packing up camp, we hike back to our pick-up point and return to Longyearbyen by car arriving around 12:00. Keep your eyes open to see if you can spot some wildlife like a polar fox, ptarmigan or a reindeer looking for food. Tired but refreshed, you'll carry with you unforgettable memories of a night spent in the raw beauty of Svalbard's wilderness - like only a few have ever experienced.

Three friends traveled just before the Dark Season and chose Your First Arctic Camp, extending it to two nights—and it was unforgettable. From hauling pulkas and setting up a cozy camp to melting snow for dinner, everything felt smooth, safe, and thoughtfully led. Polar-bear precautions were handled professionally with short night watches, and—at our request—the dogs joined, which made it even more special. The highlight was a roped glacier hike where our guide, Andreas, impressed with calm leadership and deep glacier knowledge. A truly memorable, well-run adventure.
